I think in some ways the multimedia story had the tradititonal story beat. A multimedia story is able to use a wide range of technology to convey an entire experiece to its viewer, whereas the traditional story must try to do the same simply with words. However, in this case I feel the traditional story has a leg up on the multimedia version. The slideshow about the recent metro train crash in Washington D.C. doesn’t seem to convey the same amount of emotion or intensity that the written word does. Most likely had the slideshow been a series of interviews or other media it could have surpassed the text. However in this intance I feel the traditional news story has won.
